Our roots....
Durham University Surgical Society began in 2001, along side the construction of Durham Medical School at Queen's Campus. We have come a long way since then, building a repertoire of acitvities such as suturing workshops, surgical theatre visits as well as building a rapport with world renowned surgeons, and most importantly a reputation of delivering high quality, academic events.
As a Surgical Society we have four key aims:
-
To organise and coordinate extra curricular events that showcase surgery.
-
To supplement the curriculum in the areas such as clinical anatomy, physiology and the basic sciences.
-
To excite and enthuse students with regards to a career in surgery.
-
To provide students with easy access to relevant careers information and advice.
